11. Unions are a good thing...about 30% of the workforce was unionized in the 70s.

I was a union member myself for 22 of my 33 years before taking a mgmt job. It allowed me to retire at age 53 (now 75).

My point is that the GOP hates unions and Ronnie Raygun lead the fight to demonize unions when he fired the air traffic controllers in his first term.

And yes, although the Teamsters have a history of supporting the GOP that is not the norm. With unions being only about 6% of the US workforce is now unionized and the defined benefit pension is pretty much a thing of the past as are the great benefits that most union employees enjoyed.

No, the GOP does not like the postal service being a union shop at all. ☮
