(8,230 posts)99. So far this is all hype, whether by RW media or our own. No images of the "convoy". Unlike previous Trucker Patriots

there has been no rallying point named, seen, or MSM coverage of such an event.
I can't say that the ICC, FBI, or Homeland Security are not taking note. Other than a couple of RW/Qanon influencers on the internet no other evidence exists that this is a thing.
I'm calling it a grand empty gesture. Film at 11.

Update: The original source site on this topic, Vice, included the following under the headline used for the OP:
The organizers current plan is for the convoy to depart Virginia Beach on Monday and snake down through the southeast, stopping over in Jacksonville, Florida before making its way to several stops along the border. The convoy will then split up for separate rallies on Feb. 3, one near Eagle Pass, Texas, a second in Yuma, Arizona, and a third in San Ysidro, California.
A group of six patriot-world influencers, including Kim Yeater, who runs a self-empowerment self-help group and an anti-voter fraud group, started organizing the convoy around a month ago. Gods army is rising up, she said on the planning call. We all have been chosen for this time.
The convoy was originally intended to send a message to the Biden Administration: Secure Our Borders. Its website calls on all active & retired law enforcement and military, veterans, mama bears, elected officials, business owners, ranchers, truckers, bikers, media and LAW ABIDING, freedom-loving Americans, to join the cause.

So, in fact there is no convoy under way at this time. The Christian Nationalist hooligans are trying to gin up a 2nd civil war on the border. Just like the last time we had "patriot truckers" driving across the country to save it.
It hasn't happened yet. It may not happen at all. It may fizzle out the way the last one did when they realize it is NOT the preference of most Americans, or when enough of them get arrested, or when the fuel money runs low.
I do not see 700,000, nor 70,000, nor even 70 trucks engaged in this. The people spinning this on the internet are so far from reality they cannot imagine how much coordination, discipline, and prior planning something on this scale takes to bring off. I have seen the Army on the move for an operation of this scale. They took 3 months to plan, prepare, set up the resources and communications, AND arrange things with local officials along the route. That is what it takes, along with having drivers trained and prepared for a convoy, and MP's and other support to help coordinate the logistics.
There may be the attempt to begin it, but I doubt it will hold together.
Cue more hysterical and predictable babble about the Hype.....

Pete Chambers, a lieutenant colonel organizing the group, has claimed he was a Green Beret.

Right. What if, in 1492, Native Americans had "convoyed" to the East Coast

I am of the firm opinion that the Americans shouldn't have ever welcomed the white man to their shores

Would have loved to have seen them organize like that for the BLM protests.

Sticking with gullible fools and in some cases, unfortunate anger management issues?

Mose's migration is similar to what these immigrants are undergoing, and they are simply trying to find good,

"God's Army" sure seems completely unfamiliar with God's word on the subject of how they're supposed to treat immigrants

The economy must be booming for them to be able to waste time and money pulling this stunt.

Yeah, about that. The actual Telegram page organizing it has 1600 followers. How many of those have trucks?

Yeah, God always hated refugees. Like the way he hated the Jews. Oh, wait, he didn't hate them., he loved them.
