14. Official statement from Israel

I have to say that I find the antisemitism in the replies to this post abhorrent and shameful.

It's been obvious to any rational person that step one in ending the war is the release of the hostages. Those who expect Israel to bend over and surrender to Hamas are delusional. It's not just Netanyahu; it is nearly all Israelis and Jews.

The only way out of the hell that is this war is defeat and surrender. Then, a new Gaza can be created, and maybe even Lebanon can be restored. The big question is, are we on the side of true freedom and democracy or on the side of totalitarian fascism that is the Islamist world of today?

My two cents. Flame away.

Comment Given by Daniel Hagari, IDF Spokesperson:

Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas and the mastermind behind the October 7th massacre, is dead.

Sinwar was responsible for the most brutal attack in Israel's history, when terrorists from Gaza invaded, killing Israelis in their homes, raping women, burning entire families alive, and taking over 250 men, women, children, and babies hostage.

Today, 101 hostages remain in captivity, enduring brutal conditions.

For the past year, Sinwar tried to evade justice, but he failed. We promised to find him and bring him to justice, and we have.

Sinwar initiated this war against Israel while using civilians in Gaza as shields. Since the war began on October 7th, we have been clear: our conflict is with Hamas, not the people of Gaza.

We stand by that commitment.

We are working to increase humanitarian aid, including food, water, and medicine, to the people of Gaza who suffer because of Sinwar's actions.

Today, our thoughts are with the families of those murdered or kidnapped by Sinwar.

We honor our brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend Israel.

Our mission is not over. We will not rest until all our hostages are home, by any means necessary, and we will continue our operations until all our objectives are met in defense of Israel.
