There's a lot less intelligence to insult since the Reagan era, you know. The PTB have juggled our thoughts with input designed to titillate our attention for so many decades now that we salivate on command, even our outrage is pre-programmed with its own canned laugh-track. Reality schmeality*, PBS or Fox, take your pick. They're all in the same memo loop.
* Another term I just now coined for your entertainment and the enrichment of my brand. Not sure what it means but, these days, the pretention alone will make it memorable if not salable.
