In reply to the discussion: Hochul says Trump's Madison Square Garden rally is a 'white flag of surrender' [View all]SomewhereInTheMiddle
(383 posts)I have not seen any reports on the crowd size, but I wonder if his people booked him there with the thought of playing to a packed house, and one that might have emotional value to Trump.
The thing about New York is that it has so many people that even if only a tiny fraction care enough about Trump to come to the event it might still be enough to fill the arena.
That and it is easy for the media to get there and cover it. As others have pointed out, he was not just playing to the Manhattan crowd, but the whole country via the media. More coverage than if he had made the same speech in Harrisburg or Erie. Which, knowing him, he probably has.
I would love if this was his last hurrah. It would make me very happy. But I somehow doubt that will be the case.
