The CBI was a tough slog for the guys in Burma, etc., and unfortunately, the CBI is fairly neglected in the major histories. For example, I’d never heard of Merrill’s Marauders until earlier this year…and WW II history is a hobby of mine (my grandfather was a B-25 pilot in the 12th AF in the Mediterranean and ETO).
