Those people make roughly half that, and that's why Peter Theil wants to expand the H1B visa count. So that all the high tech firms can hire more cheap workers to displace those citizens who would earn a full $180k starting salary. Many of those engineers will discover that their salary tops out quickly and that they will be replaced by incoming H1B grads.

I'm so glad that I'm retiring from technology this month. It's been a long time in a once exciting industry. The "tech bros" and their desire to rule the world at the expense of others has me embarrassed to be part of this world.
