Following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision in June 2022, tubal ligations—commonly known as getting tubes tied—and vasectomies spiked abruptly among 18 to 30-year-olds, the age group that is more likely to have an abortion, as well as experience sterilization regret.

I mean, when I was 28, we were sure we didn't want children, but at 20? It's a crime that these young people are being made to make a decision they could easily regret later in life because being pregnant in this country can be a life-threatening condition. And thanks to Rethugs, it's the only life-threatening condition that doctors are not allowed to treat.
