People are indeed leaving backward Texas.

For myself, I personally know of about 10
people who have left Texas in last 2 years.

Mainly Texans who decided their retirement was far better to live elsewhere than Texas.

In their 70s Retired to Mexico.
Moved to Area in Mexico that is Much Safer than Dallas.
Much cheaper than Dallas.
A LOT Cheaper utilities.
Cheaper healthcare than in US
Housing is cheaper.
Woman’s rights are protected,
While in Texas govt has taken rights away

And 3 single youngsters in their 30s,
that I know moved to Mexico recently for a better life
than in Texas. One still works for a US firm ‘remotely’
w/ a 6-figure salary and has 4-year legal temporary residency in Mexico.

And another young person I know just moved to Europe, to Turkey to teach. Has no plans of ever returning to US,especially with the US having such a backward person as Trump

AND of the dozens of my nieces and nephews,
the few that did live (or make that lived) in Texas,
3 moved away to a Democrat state long time ago.

Two recently moved to live and work in Mexico.
And THEY LOVE IT IN MEXICO!!

All my other nephews/nieces have ALWAYS looked at Texas as a backward
cesspool of racist Republicans, where the state government HATES women
and minorities.

Another nephew and his wife and child, live in Minnesota,
He has longed to live in Mexico , and his long term plan is to retire in Mexico
within the next 10 years if possible rather than waiting to retire later in 15 years
He tried hard to convince his own wife to give birth to their child in MEXICO instead of
the US, to acquire dual citizenship, a dual citizenship of his own child could have
‘helped’ him to retire in Mexico

Edit to Add…..

Those I know who moved away from Texas,,
ALL stated that the place they each moved to was far more tolerant of every person
regardless of color, orientation than backward Texas.

and all far better weather than Texas Hell summers.

The relatives who moved to Mexico, ALL were ecstatic how
much better the ‘standard of living’ was for them there in Mexico than in US.

And they felt the news media in Mexico was far superior for them.
None missed the crappy US corporate news’ nonstop propaganda in the US
