(894 posts)37. The only thing that makes this worrisome is SCOTUS and
their tendency to disregard the U.S. Constitution for partisan and/or ideological reasons.
If they disregard the constitution on birthright citizenship (meaning come up with some preposterous "interpretation" of the 14th amendment that invalidates birthright citizenship ), then that paves the way for the fascists to deport any U.S. citizen they want. They could even revoke the citizenship of all registered Democrats.
I think it would be wise to make plans to emigrate to another country.
It has become abundantly clear that Trump is going to utterly destroy America.

I guess the point is, with that kind of support for birthright citizenship, amending is unlikely.
