The op-ed page is not the same as news pages. They are opinion. Some you will like, some you won't. People are too hung up on pundits these days and have forgotten that news and opinion are separate things. Very separate things. Ignore the pundits like Tiedrich, who I pay little attention to. They should not be your principal source of information no matter how much you agree with them. And the NY Times isn't going to bash anyone in news stories. Now opinion stories are a different matter. That's where a writer can say what he wants.
