(1,940 posts)48. A Street Cat Named Bob - usually cats in movies are little more
than props. In this one, the cat was a real character, with personality, while still behaving like acompletely believable cat. I think Bob actually played himself in parts of the movie.
They did a pretty good job with th emovie, but only quibble is that anyone who knows cats - really knows them -will recognize scenes (and certain meows and mannerisms of the cat) that don't quite match up with the story - for example - theres one scene (in the bookstore) where Bob's body language (flicking tail etc.) is clearly stating that he wasn't happy being there but it was supposed to be a happy scene.
Still, a movie about a cat that has a half-way believable cat in it is to be applauded.
