Father was Navy in the Pacific. Uncle was Army in Europe. My brother - Navy in Vietnam. His son - Air Force in Iraq.

An older uncle killed in WWI. A ggg-uncle died in the Civil War (Union side). A gggg-grandfather served in the War of 1812. That ancestor's father was a Sargeant in the Revolutionary War and his father was a Captain in the Revolution. The Captain's father was a Lieutenant in the French and Indian Wars. The Lieutenant's father was an Ensign in the MA colonial militia, promoted to Captain after ransoming back over 100 captives (including 3 of his children) taken by the French in a raid on his colonial village which killed his wife, daughter, BIL and SIL.

Several generations.
