56. Had a somewhat similar experience

a few years ago. I learned that the hospital staff is there to save your life and pull you through - they are good at that. You are in the thick of it now but not everything you are going through is permanent and kudos to them for saving your leg. Kidneys are rather cool organs that learn to step up after such trauma - I hope that they do for you.

I wish you well. When you come out of this (please be patient because it may take time) I am betting you will be living with new insights. That in itself is a miracle.
