I like the dark mood & the very gradual resignation by Scrooge that he has no choice in the matter. So, he tolerates it, until he actually sees the light.
I also enjoy the comedy version Scrooged & the made for TV interpretation called "An American Christmas Carol" with Henry Winkler.
The 1939 version with Reginald Owen us probably my least favorite.
