Watching “Excalibur”, the movie that introduced me to the music of Richard Wagner and Carl Orff.

I still dig the movie’s surreal, Gothic vibe, the poetic moments of ancient magic, Arthur’s submission to Uriens to make him a knight, that final, incredible sunset ending with Percival casting Excalibur back into the lake. The film is greater than the sum of its parts.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
