I haven't been battling to get on the Publix site because it seems to be a nightmare. I have tried Sam's Club and Walmart, without much luck.
There is one bright spot. We are signed up on our County's website and each got a phone call yesterday although we had to turn it down. When we first signed up, we chose the option to have the nearest vaccinations instead of the least amount of wait time. Since I signed both of us up at once, we also opted to be able to get it at the same time. The person taking the information seemed to be very alert, that yesterday they couldn't even find my husband's info at first when they called to set up my appointment. 20 minutes later he got a phone call for his appointment, but it is about 1 hour away from us and with people having to sit in line and still get turned away, we will just wait until we can get one right here. The thing that puzzles me is that I live in the largest city in our County so why would we drive to a town that's a fraction of this size? Poor allocating?
Was Pinellas one of the many counties that was taken over by the state's website? Fortunately mine isn't. I still have to chuckle when I hear the governor saying that all we need is more vaccines and don't want the federal government in here because everything is going so smoothly. Is he drunk or high or just that stupid?
