...I'm guessing D&C Red 33.
It's not dangerous to handle, is readily available in bulk, & if pretty cheap.
It's a phenylazo compound using naphthalene sulfonic acid with an amine & alcohol group, the neutralized into a sodium salt.
It takes a heck of a lot of dilution to get rid of it. I would think hydrogen peroxide would get rid of a lot of the red, but I've never tried it. I didn't do a whole lot of work with dyes.
