Need Apple TV connection help [View all]

First time user here. I have one ATV for the main room and might get another for the master bedroom. Problem is both rooms are too far from the cable modem/router to stream content smoothly. I don't want to move the router or purchase a range extender or crawl under the house with more wire.

My home office is in-between both rooms, however. And since my iMac is hooked up to the modem/router via ethernet, could I get a ethernet hub and connect both Apple TVs to it along with my computer? It would be really easy to do this -- I just have drill through walls.

Would it make a difference if I got either a managed or unamanged hub? Would this impact the speed with which my computer connects online? It's unlikely both Apple TV devices and my Mac would ever be in use at the same time.

BTW, what I'm getting from Apple TV support groups is that wired connectivity provides for better performance than WiFi. Does anyone disagree with this?

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.
