Biden Acts With 2016 in Mind [View all]
Suddenly, Vice President Joe Biden seems to be everywhere. He is doing his job as President Barack Obama's advocate and surrogate, of course, but his busy and very public schedule suggests that he also wants to show that he would have a lot to offer as a presidential candidate in 2016. He says he is actively considering a campaign for the Democratic nomination.
It has been vintage Biden aggressive, emotional and at times fiery as illustrated by his remarks about the need for colleges to work harder to fight sexual assault. "Colleges and universities can no longer turn a blind eye or pretend rape and sexual assault doesn't occur on their campuses," Biden said Tuesday. "We need to provide survivors with more support and we need to bring perpetrators to more justice and we need colleges and universities to step up."

Biden started this week by attacking the House Republican budget plan in an effort to frame the debate leading up to the midterm congressional elections in November. "This is not your father's Republican Party," Biden said at George Washington University Monday.
"What they clearly value, this new Republican Party, is more tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of the middle class
because they genuinely believe in their hearts that that's the way in which you build a 21st century economy."
Biden is to talk about foreign policy in Washington today at an Atlantic Council's tribute to NATO and the European Union.
