...as you say, "they" never found it before, it ought to suggest something.

Suppose though, "they" found it. The world now consume about 4.5 billion metric tons of oil each year. Just when is this magic hydrogen going to appear at levels like that? How long will it last? Is it any wiser to bet the planet on it than it was to bet the planet on solar energy? How is that magical solution working out?

Given all the holes already drilled already for gas and oil, what is the probability they'll be billions of tons per year?

The fossil fuel green washers here trying to rebrand them as hydrogen like to point to all these devices powered by hydrogen. What would be the cost of building an infrastructure to make these devices be as prevalent as cars?

I'm sick of magical thinking. There is no evidence, none, that hydrogen will ever be a source of primary energy on the scale of oil and gas, and even it were, using it would be no different the the robbery from future generations that we carried out with fossil fuels.

A "hydrogen economy" is a persistent lie and would be a bad idea under any circumstances. The only people to have benefitted from this bullshit are fossil fuel interests, whose main task is to sell complacency. They've succeeded at their goal, leaving the planet in flames, apparently here as in the broader world.

Have a nice evening.
