Of course they want their own state. The question is are they willing to allow the Jews to have their own state? Or put another way, do they want the Jewish state gone more than they want a state of their own? History says that the answer to that question is yes, which is why they don't have a state of their own. Which is also why they won't get one state at the ballot box. As long as they don't accept the Jewish state, then there is no reason that the Israelis have to give them a vote on the issue.
