In 1949, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) defined Palestinian refugees to refer to the original "Palestine refugees" as well as their patrilineal descendants.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid (born in Los Angeles) holds inherited "Palestinian refugee" status through her father, multi-millionaire real estate developer Mohamed Hadid. Mohamad Hadid holds dual citizenship in the United States and Jordan and lives in Israel.

Supermodel Gigi Hadi's child is not a "Palestinian refugee".

That status is only heritable through the male line.
