I suppose it could have been predictable. When I knew her in HS she was one of those girls who always had a boyfriend and really didn't have many female friends because the boyfriend was where all of her time and energy went. And, of course, she had to placate is jealousy.
It should be no surprise that she would bow to the wishes of her husband at the expense of facilitating creativity in her children.

We were friendly, so it does make me kind of sad. Especially knowing she has a daughter.
