point. That's important for me since my Dad died due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes and Alzheimers. So far so good.

I've been following the Glycemic Index and then a low-carb diet for many years and it's working.
The diet I follow allows unlimited meat, fish and poultry, plus cheese and natural oils. The diet recommends using butter, not margarine (I use a "light butter&quot plus all the veggies/beans/legumes and cheese you can stand. Be careful with fruit/fruit juice since they're a potent source of sugars. Avocados are good...

For breads I use the following: corn tortillas, pita bread, sourdough or potato bread and any dark bread like rye or pumpernickel. Learn to look at food labels to judge what foods are best then go for it!
