But EMDR is a newer therapy that directly addresses life trauma. Often times a lot of things like anxieties, inability to focus and other characteristics or issues that we struggle with could be rooted in our traumas. I have done a couple months of EMDR and noticed substantial changes in my irritability, depression anxiety and overall happiness. As another poster mentioned, psychology today is a great place to find people. Also I heard Path is also a good place to look which takes a lot of the major insurances:
