Tried it my way for a decade and then decided on a program. [View all]

I'm under the supervision of a doctor for weight loss.

First I detox, then adopt a program of eating organic food including some fish. I am eliminating flour, bread, pasta, soy, with minimal dairy, beef, and pork.

I've stayed true for six weeks, losing 10 pounds. My belly made me look like I was in my second trimester. Now it's flatter. OK, it's first trimester, but it's decidedly better. My energy is just fine. My cravings are gone. I divide my smallish dinner plate into quadrants, two for vegetables, one for brown or royal blend rice, and the last for protein. I finally accept portion control.

I only shop for food at farmers markets, Fairway, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods.

While I and my doctor don't call it a diet, there are elements of Paleo, Sugar Busters, Wheat Belly, and South Beach that I recognize.

I'll check in later to give updates.
