Cavatappi (some brands call it cellentani) with a tomato sauce made with ground turkey and one link of Italian sausage and LOTS of sliced garlic. I've been using ground beef with a sausage link for years, but I spotted a chub of frozen ground turkey for $1.79 at the store. That's less than half the price of beef and considerably cheaper than ground pork, so I gave it a shot.

Not bad at all, actually.

I actually had that chub of turkey in my freezer for a few weeks while I decided what to try with it. I am certain I wouldn't like a meatloaf made with turkey, and forget about tacos with turkey; that simply isn't happening at my house. But pasta sauce? A fair budget-friendly compromise.
