Things to check: use a penlight and see if his pupils are equal. See if one side is reacting more slowly than the other. Check to see if he can see at all, swipe your hand very close to his face and see if he withdraws. Look how he's walking. Are all four limbs moving well and equally? How's his balance? You'll want to tell the vet about anything that's not quite right.

Cat poop on a rug where you will see it is often a call for help. Is there an emergency vet close by?

Best way to get the cat into a carrier: put the carrier up on a surface--table, bed, kitchen counter.--with the door flush against the edge. Pick the cat up in sort of a football hold, front and back supported. and push him into the carrier/crate. He's not going to want to fall, so he's likely to go in fairly meekly. It worked on HRH, who could be a holy terror about it.

If there is no e-vet, keep him as quiet and comfortable as possible. Good luck to both.

Put on heavy gloves, wrap him in a towel, stick him in a crate, and go. raging moderate Feb 2024 #5
I agree. Take him to an emergency vet. He could have just eaten something bad and it may be able Maraya1969 Feb 2024 #10

Are there any emergency vet clinics in your area? virgdem Feb 2024 #7
Sounds like it could be a vestibular problem. Check his ears for signs of infection. sinkingfeeling Feb 2024 #8
