And it's kind of crazy because I know these people. Mr. Clapp is well known in the area as the drama teacher, and a good one (the high school and college have campuses that are connected on one side). It's a VERY small town. I don't remember if Mr. Clapp himself, is gay, or if people just speculated about it, but I think this has more to do with that otherwise. Also, although we won marriage last year, it wasn't easy and there are still many sore losers right now. I don't think they'll disqualify them, for what it's worth. I think it's probably just some poor losers who don't like Doug Clapp.

And gender is a tricky thing. A man stuck in a woman's body is still a man, so on one hand, yes, that is a gay relationship--on the other hand, the husband didn't know, so it can be seen as straight from his perspective. This is discussed ad nauseum among the trans* community. But, I think that's digging too deep into what is suppose to be a joke.
