(4,462 posts)is unconstitutional. You also fail to understand the difference between the enumerated individual right to keep and bear arms and smoking, which has no inherent legal protections.

Regardless of the constitutional impediments, such a tax has absolutely no chance of passing either house of Congress. Heck, they cannot even pass a universal background check bill despite purported claims of over 90% support.
Interestingly, it's anticipated that a very small "violence tax" instituted in Seattle, similar in nature but far less onerous than an actual bullet tax, will likely soon fall due to constitutional and state preemption concerns. Prepare for even more pro-gun right legal precedent in the near future.
