I've been lurking but I've been kind of bummed lately. I'm just not sure I want do the whole politics thing anymore.

Nothing super-duper tragic. Nobody died. Me and Lover Boy are as close as ever. I can honestly say life is good and I'm happy.

BUT

I've come to believe politics makes people hurtful and cynical and power-obsessed. Bullies and a-holes, really. Most of the time I can't tell if what passes for debates or statement-making or campaigning isn't just people trying to get a rise out of other people for the same reason a petulant child pulls the wings off of a fly.

I don't want to be around people like that and, most importantly, I fear I might become like that. I'm even seeing it in this sub-thread and it sickens me.

I just want to retreat to my home in the woods, take care of my animals and make love to my husband until the asteroid hits. I suppose that makes me selfish but it's honest.

I hope you are well and I wish for you a lifetime of honor, peace, love and laughter.
