Sandhill cranes have arrived in So. Wisconsin [View all]

Heard them bugling around 6:15 this morning. There is something about that sounds very pre-historic.

So this year the cranes beat the return of the turkey vultures. Both of those typically come back to Jefferson County in early to mid March. With a strong low headed our way, I'd not be surprised to see vultures by the end of the week.
