(For non Jews: A yahrzeit candle is lit at sundown, and stays lit for 24 hours.
That is why safety is important, for those who are not aware of that fact.)

I like the prayer saying that the deceased person's soul is a light from God.
And may the light of the candle bring peace to their souls and eternal life.
And reside with the souls of other esteemed souls.
