but I too support creation of that group.
I think Pastafarianism serves a useful purpose in that it should remind everyone that someone out there thinks THEIR beliefs are nonsense/fake, too. Serves as a very important "check" when it comes to religious privilege and the role of religion in politics.
As we have seen on DU, many believers feel very threatened by its presence because it brings up important questions that were they to answer them, might just weaken their faith. So it's easier to attack and dismiss rather than actually have a dialog.
