As for Cassandra? She's finally on the donor's list after a lot of foot dragging from the insurance company. Their first response was a denial. Once again my daughter-in-law worked the phones demanding a peer-to-peer conference and had the denial turned around. It meant another two-week delay for a situation where time is of the essence. Honestly, I will never understand our screwed-up health system that allows insurance companies to play doctor in life or death situations.
As for Cassandra? She's her smiley-face self, has rebounded from the last round of chemo and is actually coming home while we await a call from the transplant surgeons.
Fingers crossed!
Take care of yourself, girlfriend.
