26. When I lived in L.A., there were a few times I left a note for parking enforcement...

and was never ticketed.

They were always earnest requests on my part. In fact, one of them was because someone backed out of a driveway and demolished the rear-end of my car, then took off. I worked upstairs from the incident (it was just before Christmas) and we heard it. One of my co-workers said, "Oh (C Moon) your car!"

I ran downstairs and found several witnesses had taken the license plate number. It was an older man picking up his wife. He had pressed the gas by mistake and flew in reverse hitting my car. The two cars were suspended in the air, and his wife ran over opened the door and got in. The cars hit the ground and he sped off.

After contacting the police, and tracking the license #, I was reimbursed by their insurance. But you know how that goes: you have a running car, they give you the Bluebook $500 bucks for it, and you can't buy another running car for that.

I was car-less for some time.

Sorry for the long-winded story.
