I have diabetes and am overweight--I'm paying for my need for stimulation in the form of food.

I have heard that you get physical illnesses for emotional reasons and if you heal the emotional reasons the physical symptoms will not longer be needed.

The body and emotions work together more often than not. Emotional pain can and often does manifest itself as physical pain and/or ailments, but one doesn't necessarily cause the other. For instance, loneliness is painful and can kill you.

As for "just lying around", that often is an ADHD symptom. Difficulty setting priorities can look like laziness when it's really a sense of being overwhelmed by indecision.
