(649 posts)Im a Warren Democrat. Because I support her positions and believe she would make a great president who would have fought tooth and nail for impactful reform of our economic and health care systems.
Warren rightfully suspended her campaign. And I believe that Sanders should do the same and endorse Biden.
But your post confuses me. It implies that conservatism is weak. While it might be a little weaker today than it was a month ago, I dont believe it is weak and subject to a final thrust into [its] heart. And, moreover, even if it were, Joe Biden would not be the man to deliver that thrust. A central theme of Bidens campaign has been his time in the Senate and his ability to work with the other side (I prefer to refer to them as our enemy) and get things done. Such a candidate has not positioned himself to deliver a final thrust into the heart of conservatism. To the contrary, he wants to work with them.
It is, indeed, time for Sanders to stop tilting at windmills and endorse Biden. But to see Biden as a champion of the defeat of conservatism is just plain wrong.
