Democratic Primaries

(14,103 posts)the segment of voters who have so far chosen sanders should be coaxed and courted.
The literally millions of people who chose to vote for Bernie sanders over all of the other potential candidates, each for their own reasons. Want to win? Sure California is blue no matter who. But Colorado.. Biden will need the 36% of Democrats who supported Bernie. And in Nevada. And in Minnesota, and Michigan and any number of other states that aren't just guaranteed blue wins. Heck even in states where Biden had his blowouts.. The Carolinas. If Biden is going to win the GE in those tough states, he will need the support of the minorities that voted for Sanders as well as the majorities that gave him his primary victory.
We need ALL of us on board to win. Trump will be cheating. We need margins that make it impossible to steal.
Sanders himself.. if he becomes a problem in the quest to remove trump, as a long time supporter, I say fuck him. Its not about Sanders, it never has been, and if it ever is, his movement is dead. Personally, I dont think that he is a problem. I think that as a person of Jewish heritage who's family came from Poland, he sees as clearly as almost anyone alive exactly what a second term of Trump would mean for all of us.
But the voters behind him, those we need.. We cant assume that trump is so bad that they will just fall in line, or be unnecessary. Thats what happened in 2016, and it has turned out disastrously for the country.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
