Sanders must be stripped of seniority in the Democratic caucus in the Senate (he is a member by sufferance only, not by right), and stripped off all committee assignments. If he does not like it, he can go to McConnell and do his destructive work in the open sunshine.
Such a show of strength would gain far more credibility in more centerist quarters for the Party, and prove extremely inspirational to loyal Democrats and sensible leftists. This would be more than sufficient to swamp any poutrage by 'Bernie' cultists. Strength is respected and admired, weakness is not. As the old saw had it even back in the thirties in Mr. Roosevelt's day: "A liberal is a man who won't take his own side in a quarrel." People want officials who will fight for their interests, and the sight of a man seemingly unwilling even to fight for himself does not inspire.

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
