Democratic Primaries

(58,785 posts)I believe, though, that only learning that Repub/Russian were successfully using the disruption of our primary process to steal the election would justify a major retooling of it, though.
What a mess ditching a major candidate would be. It's not as if people haven't learned Sanders is a Russian asset and knows it -- too many just don't care, a huge symptom of these disordered, corrupted times. The Republican-serving MSM, including to name a few the NYT, AP and Russian state media, would amplify and pretend-legitimize the Sanders'/anti-Democratic left's messages that Democrats were (again!) stealing the nomination from him. And too many we need to vote would again fail to. (Not our best and brightest, but ours if they bother.)
The very best path by far is just to let the primary process play out. He'll cause as much trouble as he can at the convention, but it'll be less than last time and not as if we can't handle them in our own arena. They're ruthlessly aggressive, but liberal Democrats are far more numerous, far more powerful, far more competent and intelligent, and liberals always hold the high ground.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
