And I find that hard to believe. Sometimes, I think people don't know the difference between the Democratic and Republican Parties. Rather, they look at elections more as popularity contests, like in High School.
What's more, there shouldn't be such a thing as an "undecided voter".
Maybe the Democratic Party needs to make it plain and clear what a Democrat is. A core belief that sets it apart from the Republican Party. There should be nothing wishy-washy about the definition of a "Democrat"!
There are countries that have up to 4-5 Political Parties. Think about that. Should we change our voting Parties to a 3 party system? Democratic, Independent, and Republican, which might be a place for people who think that they have a combination of Republican and Democratic beliefs. I know what everyone's thinking: Hell would have to freeze over before we changed to a 3-Party system.
Right now, I think we have 4 parties:
Far Right Corporate Republicans, Republicans, Corporate Democrats, and Democrats.
I hope and pray for a 2-Party System like we used to have. When there was give-and-take. When our elected officials would come together and get The People's business done without all the animosity. WE need to get the money out.
To win back voters we need to make it plain and clear what we Democrats believe in: Justice, Equality, a Living wage instead of a minimum wage, clean food, clean water, clean air (everywhere), EDUCATION (from Head Start thru 4 yrs of colleege or 2-yr skill
training), Universal HealthCare, Big Bird (Public TV and Radio), a Fact-based Press, etc.
In short, The Democratic Party is for The People. In the 21st Century. Period. Full Stop.
