cachukis's JournalWent to a David Jolly stump speech sponsored
by North Tampa Democrats. Full house, around 200.
He was dynamic, energized and spot on.
Presented plans on housing and insurance. Get rid of private hurricane coverage and use the state catastrophic plan designed by republican legislature to eliminate the carrier fees. Save us all a lot. We already have $8 billion in house and could get it to $30 with good management. Insurance companies would hate it.
Pushed for expansion of Medicaid and also county health clinics that already exist. They have been restricted by republican tightwadedness. The system exists, just needs a release of funds. Better health for Florida.
Lastly, lambasted the cultural destruction of education. Called out the double dipping of the voucher system. Planned to improve teacher pay and bring back the books. Let teachers teach.
Did not mention the elephant and did not ask for money.
He sees the energy and the movement and called on Democrats to rise to the occassion. Recognized he was going to need more than Democrats as there are fewer of us after the blue dogs turned red.
Sharp and patient in the Q and A.
Hopeful.
Not the State of the Union.
National Enquirer speech. JFC.
Most sickening SOTU ever.

Is trump playing Rameses II? Is that how Rameses parlayed his plastered, hyerogliphic, control over the money?
Trump needs a legacy. The good? The bad? It'll all be gone by morning.
Unless he plasters his name.
Will our descendents revel in his name/legacy?
The question I pose:
With the retirements, the firings, the resignations, the discombulations to what we've all learned to manage, be enough to unsettle the great population to wake up? Will troubadour Sprinsteen alert the idlers to listen to the discord?
Or will it take catastrophe to waken Americans to face the fact that everyday events, do affect them?
Why aren't our leaders showing trepidation?
Probably the same reason why the oligarchs are ripping us off. We have given them forgiveness, the opiate of the masses.
Jesus, what a mistake.
As a youngster in, 1960 or so, I was able to get on
tv on the Bozo the Clown show in Boston. I was so excited when my brother and sister saw me.
Over time, I had been interviewed, had a program on a local station discussing odd carpentry tools, and even in high school, as Mr. Vocabulary Man, had a show.
The television cameras are ubiquitous and many of us accept facial recognition leaving and returning to a cruise.
We all have phone recorders and demand police have recorders.
Perp walks and security cameras generally cause people to shield their visages as they indicate people having been in suspect situations.
Today's event was prompted by a photographer/watcher that challenged ICE being exposed for not following protocol or even the law.
My question, since we are all familiar with recording and being recorded, if ICE is following the Constitution, why do they hide their faces and eschew being recorded?
They should be proud of upholding the law, no?
I hear the DHS people brandishing their law credentials every day.
Haven't heard a reporter calling this out.
If trump was so worried about security in and
around Greenland, why did he not take action to reinforce our base in Thule during his first administration? That opportunity remains.
My sense is a lack of insight as to real geopolitics and a referral to his base knowledge of real estate. That is his confident comfort zone.
That we have elected a real estate maggot to manage us on the world stage is evident to all outside of the US and a good portion of us here.
Let us hope his continued mishaps in our legal system and misguided approaches to our previous benevolence start to impact his supporters as proof of his ineptitude.
He has shown everyone that looking out windows should be his next pastime.
