And unpatriotic. ...

What they are doing by attacking the process is not only unpatriotic but also antidemocratic.

Chipping away at 250 years of America by attacking our rights, one by one. Voting, freedom of speech, assembly, self-determination, etc. are All under attack. Voting is the linchpin that ties them together.

If they are successful in destroying each one to the point of critical mass, they are hoping for all of them to fall, but voting is the most critical.

'Your voice, your vote' isn't just an electioneering slogan anymore. Today, we should consider it a warning.

It makes one wonder if someone is considering not voting either, they have a poor understanding of how democracy works, they are unconcerned about their fellow citizens or could possibly be antidemocratic and unpatriotic.

It appears to mean that they don't believe in the promise of America at all.

And after...

They went to the tiny hands rally
and came back home dirty, bruised and hungry
she sat them down in the kitchen and fed them.

And after they had eaten she said,

"Don't you ever try to
embarrass us like that in public again!"

And upon seeing their pitiful faces full of shame she said...

Now GO To Your Room
and don't come out until you're ready to apologize if you want to have any desert!

Beautiful Momala,
she's a forgiving and righteous leader,
who loves all her family the same
even when they're acting stupid.

But if she's backed into a corner
She will come out fighting,
taking no sh¡t...
only prisoners.

Because.....

When we fight, we win!

Verbal diarrhea...

aka logorrhea is not entertainingly interesting and a symptom of a psychological neurological disorder. Speech full of form, void of content.

Shady must have skipped Speech Communication 101 which most have to have to graduate. Seriously, it's the classic gish gallop.

Do these so-called journalists know nothing about debate?

Gish gallop definition:

The Gish gallop (/ˈɡɪʃ ˈɡæləp/) is a rhetorical technique in which a person in a debate attempts to overwhelm an opponent by presenting an excessive number of arguments, with no regard for their accuracy or strength, with a rapidity that makes it impossible for the opponent to address them in the time available. Gish galloping prioritizes the quantity of the galloper's arguments at the expense of their quality.

They are not. They are not a monolith or an organization. Have you read...

Scholar Dr. Matthew D. Taylor's book?

The Violent Take It By Force: The Christian Movement that is Threatening Our Democracy (Broadleaf, 2024)

"Required reading for anyone seeking to understand Christian nationalism." ―Kristin Kobes Du Mez, author of Jesus and John Wayne

A propulsive account of the network of charismatic Christians that consolidated support for Donald Trump and is reshaping religion and politics in the US.

Over the last decade, the Religious Right has evolved. Some of the more extreme beliefs of American evangelicalism have begun to take hold in the mainstream. Scholar Matthew D. Taylor pulls back the curtain on a little-known movement of evangelical Christians who see themselves waging spiritual battles on a massive scale. Known as the New Apostolic Reformation, this network of leaders and believers emerged only three decades ago but now yields colossal influence, galvanizing support for Trump and far-right leaders around the world. In this groundbreaking account, Taylor explores the New Apostolic Reformation from its inception in the work of a Fuller Seminary professor, to its immense networks of apostles and prophets, to its role in the January 6 riot. Charismatic faith provided righteous fuel to the fire that day, where symbols of spiritual warfare blazed: rioters blew shofars, worship music blared, and people knelt in prayer. This vision of charismatic Christianity now animates millions, lured by Spirit-filled revival and visions of Christian supremacy.

Taylor's unprecedented access to the movement's leaders, archives, internal conference calls, and correspondence gives us an insider account of the connection between charismatic evangelicalism and hard-right rhetoric. Taylor delves into prophetic memes like the Seven Mountains Mandate, the Appeal to Heaven flag, and the Cyrus Anointing; Trump's spiritual advisor Paula White's call for "angelic reinforcements"; and Sean Feucht and Bethel Music's titanic command of worship styles across America. Throughout, Taylor maps a movement of magnetic leaders and their uncompromising beliefs--and where it might be headed next. When people long to conquer a nation for God, democracy can be brought to the brink.

About Professor Taylor:
Matthew D. Taylor is a senior scholar at the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies in Baltimore, where he specializes in Evangelical and Pentecostal movements, religious politics in the US, Muslim-Christian dialogue, and American Islam. He holds a PhD in Religious Studies from Georgetown University and an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. His first book, Scripture People: Salafi Muslims in Evangelical Christians’ America (Cambridge University Press, 2023), offers an introduction to the oft-misunderstood Salafi movement in the U.S. by way of comparison with American Evangelicalism. Taylor's second book, The Violent Take It By Force: The Christian Movement that is Threatening Our Democracy (Broadleaf, 2024) tracks the growth of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement and shows how the NAR leaders became the vanguard of Christian supporters of Donald Trump, even playing a direct role in the January 6 Capitol Riot.

What does Matthew 11:12 mean?
Not all phrases are easy to translate into other languages. This verse represents a difficult concept to understand, and commentators offer several possible explanations of what Jesus meant. He has just said that John is the greatest person ever born, but that the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is (Matthew 11:11).

The key phrase here, in the original Greek, is hē basileia tōn ouranōn biazetai, kai biastai harpazousin autēn. Most English translations follow the pattern of the ESV: "the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force." Other translations, such as the NLT, render this as "the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it." The NASB adds some subtlety by noting, in footnotes, that these phrases can also be translated "is forcibly entered," and "seize it for themselves," respectively.

Jesus' reference to the days of John the Baptist likely means the time of John's ministry before he was imprisoned (Matthew 4:12). "Now," in this context, would then mean that moment in Jesus' ministry of introducing the kingdom of heaven.

The most direct meaning of these words seems to be that when Jesus began His public ministry, the kingdom of heaven was beginning on earth in the form of Jesus and His followers. But great opposition has risen up against heaven's kingdom in the form of men like Herod—who imprisoned John the Baptist—and the Jewish religious leaders.

Another possible meaning is that Jesus is speaking about the perversion of truth committed by His critics and opponents. In other words, a right understanding of the kingdom had been attacked. People had the wrong idea about what the kingdom of heaven really was. That's why John the Baptist asked if Jesus was really the Messiah. In that sense, then, Jesus would be saying that violent men are insisting the kingdom must be a political kingdom that begins by overthrowing the Romans. Jesus did not come to earth to do that.

Essay
The Framing of a Movement: Defining the New Apostolic Reformation

Evan P. Pietsch, R. Vivian Pietsch
Tuesday, May 21st 2024

As we seek in this essay to define the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and the extent of its influence, we must first emphasize that the movement isn’t a denomination or federation or even a parachurch organization. You will never drive by a sign that reads, New Apostolic Reformational Church of Snoqualmie Falls. This invisibility is a large part of its threat. But in this essay, we will not focus on critique but definition. It is vital to define this movement because it is a theologically troubling system of functional norms, beliefs, and leadership networks that over the past few decades has made significant inroads into many evangelical churches in the United States and abroad. We hope that defining the movement’s characteristic features will help both church leaders and members to recognize the threat and guard against it.

I'm so excited! President Clinton...

Bill Clinton to campaign for Harris in eastern NC with rural bus tour
By: Galen Bacharier - October 10, 2024 12:30 pm

Former President Bill Clinton will visit North Carolina next week to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Clinton will headline a bus tour across the eastern part of the state, the campaign announced Thursday, with a focus on reaching rural voters in the battleground Tar Heel State.

The 42nd president’s trip on the campaign trail will come after Harris visits Greenville for an event Sunday afternoon. Together, the two efforts mark an aggressive new push by the Democratic ticket to win over rural voters in a region that has voted solidly Republican in recent presidential elections.

President Donald Trump’s campaign has also mounted a bus tour across the state this week, visiting campaign offices and county party headquarters with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-New York) and several other formal Trump administration officials.

New book examines a group of charismatic Christian leaders and their ties to Jan. 6 attack

September 22, 20247:54 AM ET

NPR's Ayesha Rascoe talks with religious studies scholar Matthew D. Taylor about his book "The Violent Take it By Force" and charismatic Christianity's role in U.S. politics.
NPR Interview transcript excerpts:

RASCOE: So in this book, you track over 50 charismatic Christian leaders who were in D.C. on January 6, and they all have ties to this thing called New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR. What is New Apostolic Reformation?
TAYLOR: The New Apostolic Reformation is a set of leadership networks that were formed by a seminary professor named C. Peter Wagner in the 1990s and early 2000s. They're built around this idea that is very popular in charismatic circles, that the church needs to be led by a renewed echelon of apostles and prophets. And if you know your New Testament or Biblical history, the apostles and prophets are pivotal leadership roles in the early church. But most church traditions have found ways of pushing those more to the side. But within these charismatic circles, there's this popular belief that we need apostles and prophets again, that God is commissioning new apostles and prophets. And so Wagner was putting together networks of people who thought they were apostles and prophets, who had adopted those titles and those roles and were trying to figure out, how do we do this?
RASCOE: You do have charismatic churches, like the church I grew up in, Church of God In Christ, which is a denomination, and it has a leadership structure. But these churches, New Apostolic Reformation churches - they're nondenominational.
TAYLOR: Yeah, this is what we scholars will talk about sometimes as the independent charismatic sector, that intersection of that nondenominational governance along with this charismatic spirituality, that is sort of the wild west of American Christianity. I mean, this is a space with all kinds of experimentation. It's very tech savvy. A lot of entrepreneurial leaders - and the NAR is trying to offer, in many ways, an alternative to denominations, saying, denominations are slow moving. They've got all these bylaws. And instead, why don't we just invest authority in these charismatic individuals, these leaders, these apostles and prophets who can lead the church into grand revivals? And we can move a lot faster and more expeditiously.
RASCOE: The other key aspect of this, which is the part that I didn't really know about, is that society can be transformed through strategic-level spiritual warfare. In churches, I'm familiar with - people talk about spiritual warfare. But this is different.
TAYLOR: Yeah, spiritual warfare is a very common practice and set of beliefs within Christianity. I mean, in many ways, the idea of spiritual warfare is rooted in the New Testament and passages like the Book of Ephesians that speaks about putting on the armor of God. So many evangelicals, many Pentecostals, many Catholics practice spiritual warfare, so that's very widespread. And the basic idea is that there are angels and demons battling in this invisible spiritual realm all around us and that warfare affects us.

Watauga County Board of Elections: Despite Hurricane, November Election Will Go On

Note: The State Board of Elections is sending out this press release on behalf of the Watauga County Board of Elections. We are grateful to the Watauga County Board and staff for their continued hard work to serve voters during this disaster.

Boone, N.C. -- Despite the hardship that Hurricane Helene has brought to our community and Western North Carolina, the Watauga County Board of Elections is hard at work preparing for the November 5, 2024 general election. Though the hurricane has caused significant disruptions, our election staff and the bipartisan Board are determined to ensure that every eligible Watauga County voter can vote in this cycle.

The Board’s motto is: “adapt and overcome.”

To reassure our community that elections officials are hard at work preparing for the election and are diligently handling hurricane-related challenges, the Board wishes to bring the following developments to the public’s attention:

Since Monday, September 30, election staff have been back in the Board’s office in the Watauga County courthouse on King Street. Staff are taking calls (828-265-8061) and can meet by appointment.

Election staff are in regular contact with the N.C. State Board of Elections, county management, and representatives in the General Assembly, and are coordinating with local agencies.

Election staff have evaluated tabulators and laptop computers used for elections and determined that they have not been damaged. Security of all election facilities and equipment has been maintained.

Despite internet and cell phone outages, election staff have established a secure connection to the state information system, allowing staff to process registrations and requests for absentee ballots.

Election staff and the Board are assessing the viability and availability of voting sites, as well as the availability of election officials.

Election staff have received absentee ballots and mailed out absentee ballots. They have also received and sent out electronic ballots to military and overseas voters.

Consistent with state law, the Board will meet on Thursday, October 3, to begin approving “absentee by mail” ballots. The Board will continue to hold regular meetings for this purpose through Election Day.

Beginning the week of October 8, election staff will begin training election officials.

The Board is grateful for the dedication of our election officials, who have made clear that they are available and ready to work.

The Board encourages the public to monitor developments at its website.

NC GOTV News: Save the Date, Thursday, October 17th

The statewide Democratic Party plan is to VOTE EARLY AND IN PERSON this election!

Democrats across North Carolina are making it a goal to have as many of us as possible vote on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17TH.

Please encourage your Democratic friends to do the same!

The best way to avoid complications at the polls, or anything that could prevent Democratic votes from being counted, is to follow this advice.

First, if there are any problems it provides time to get them addressed and not having to cast a provisional ballot.

Second, it will help Democratic Get Out the Vote efforts with the final push on election day to make sure Democrats have the highest turnout possible.

It’s pretty simple. After early voting and even during the final days of early voting we will know who has cast their votes.

If Democrats VOTE EARLY there will be fewer folks that will need to be contacted leading into election day.

As a reminder you can use the link below to search for early voting locations:

https://vt.ncsbe.gov/EVSite/

Link to Statewide List PDF download of voting locations and times:

https://vt.ncsbe.gov/OSSite/GetStatewideList/

Remember you can vote at any of these locations during early voting, while you must vote at your precinct if you vote on election day.

Democrats across North Carolina are making it a goal to have as many of us as possible vote on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17TH.

So...
Make a plan.
Take a friend.
