"Are You Better Off Today than 4 Years Ago"? Should be a lay-up question!

Watched a recent debate for Virginia District 2 between Retrumplican Kiggins and Democrat Smasal. If you have an hour to kill, you should find it on Youtube. Missy Smasal dragged Kiggins all over the stage, and while I would like for her to win, it's a tough district...she may come up short.

Kiggins must have used the "are you better off now than 4 years ago" line about a dozen times.

This should be a lay-up question for Dems.

I'm not a political expert, but if Dem strategists and campaigns read DU, here is my humble response to that question:

"Better off now than 4 years ago?!!! Are you kidding me??!!! (look directly at camera, or audience). Like most of America, 4 years ago, I was locked up in my house and wearing a mask, because the Retrumplicans had so mismanaged COVID response that 10,000 Americans a week were dieing. 4 years ago, you couldn't find toilet paper when they let us into a store 5 at a time. 4 years ago, an ignoramus told us to mainline bleach!!!! 4 years ago, the unemployment rate was 20%. 4 years ago, businesses from large to small were shuttering and closing. 4 years ago, our 401Ks and retirement investments were flatlining. 4 years ago, housing wasn't just expensive, but renters couldn't pay rent, and small landlords were devastated. Look at your 401K or investments today

4 years ago, a violent mob of crazy MAGAts tried to overthrow American Democracy and lynch the Vice President.

4 years ago was a 'frickin' nightmare of violence, death and economic destruction.

We should all be furious that they think we are so stupid that they would dare to ask us if we were better off 4 ago.

No! I am NOT "burying my head in the sand", and No! I don't think every DUer posting "gloom and doom" polling and crowd size posts are "trolls".

My theory is that they are a distraction. Some posters, I am sure, have no malice intended with these posts. I assume that they have good intent, but I don't need to participate, or give them weight. As part of our Navy workups in prep for deployment, we would sail our sorry asses down to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba..

For a few weeks, we "exercised" the ship's Damage Control and survivability. We drilled on Main Space Fire response, CBR Attack response and Flooding Control.

We also conducted Mass Casualty Drills.

Multiple people would be outfitted with realistic fake wounds. I'm talking fractures with bones sticking out, amputations with fake blood spurting everywhere, sucking chests wounds, bloody intestines hanging out of stomachs and every manor of burns. It was really good, and effective. Some of these were Hollywood level examples of terrible wounds.

Sailors assigned to act as injured would scream, flail about, spurt fake blood, all while fake smoke swirled around and alarms went off all over the ship. It was chaos.

Coming upon an injured Shipmate, everyone from Captain to Stew-Burner was expected to administer emergency care from tourniquets, to damp packing intestines, to plastic wrapping sucking chest wounds. It was drilled into us that it was a 3 step process, in order of importance to saving life, or limb:

1. Stop the bleeding
2. Restore breathing
3. Treat for shock

My niece was just telling me that they recently conducted a similar drill.

My training was in the event the Russians or another enemy hit my ship with a missile or a bomb, or if we suffered some tragic accident.
