Has Trump blasted a Truth Social post "Happy Good Friday!" yet?

You know, bceause he thinks its an extra day on the golf course or at the Club? Not having anything to do with a solemn Christian holy day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.

I think today's Trump show was very, very intentional to send a message and incite fear.

He WANTS people to know nobody is out of his reach if they cross him in ANY manner.

Here.

In the U.S.

The President using fear to keep citizens in line.

It has absolutely sent a chill through America.

Cue the folks who say, "Well, if you obey the laws, you have nothing to fear." What happends when those "laws" are changed to restrict or outright ban thought, movement and choice? When your very existence is breaking a law?

"Biggest one-day gain in five years"

CNBC saying regarding the S&P 500.

Trump and his monkees won't address a crash, but they'll jump on this!

Never mind giving no context that we were in the crapper for the last four business days and it only begins to dig us out of a hole.

So, my financial advisor emails me today...

Obviously to address the tariffs and market decline. It did look like a cut-and-paste that probably went out to all clients.

There's no doubt he's Republican, but he keeps political views to himself. Only with him due to looooooong family history with the firm he is with. He is sharp though.

The email walks the line for the most part to not outright offend left or right clients. BUT, leans into that BS short-term pain, long-term gain speak in "reshaping the economy to adress the federal debt."

There's just no way to navigate concerns, adjustments and strategies without making this poitical. Trump's actions started all this. FULL STOP!

I think the thing that irritates me most about Trump is...

I thought I had rid my life of drama queens, know-it-alls, and attention whores. Not worth having any of those arround. Toxic and exhausting.

We have all three wrapped up in the current President.

I don't need to be force fed at EVERY...DAMN...TURN... Trump's "thoughts" about every little thing. As if he is the only one who can figure things out.

Man, is it going to be a long four years.

It's not just the LA Times and WaPo holding back on a presidential endorsement

Went today to download the Tampa Bay Times recommendations for early voting and it was missing the Presidential and US Senate (Florida) receommendations. Come to find out, they aren't making them! If I have this right, they were only making recommendations on candidates the Editorial Board interviewed or on issues they have studied in depth. I mean, I don't need the Times to tell me how to vote on President or Senator, but I found this surprising. The recommendation list does help me with state, county and city races though as I do get murky on some of that and I value the Board's recommendations generally.

When I Googled why the Tampa Bay Times is not doing a Presidential endoresment, I found this article the Poynter Institute (a global nonprofit that strengthens democracy by improving the relevance, ethical practice and value of journalism) that explains this is happening elsewhere. It does cover newspapers who HAVE made the decision to stick with an endorement too.

Opinion | Why newspaper presidential endorsements have become an endangered species
The Washington Post. Los Angeles Times. The Minnesota Star Tribune. Tampa Bay Times. Gannett. McClatchy. Alden. The list grows by the day.

I'm convinced Trump thought he could cakewalk this election against Biden.

Absolute bare minimum for campaigning. Stay in a tight bubble. Reduce opportunities for forced errors (as if!). Pissed as hell now he has to get out there and do something against Harris/Walz. FORCED to further reveal himself and mix amongst riff raff you know he has contempt for.

Then again, maybe the goal wasn’t to win it with exposure, but to lean on voter suppression in the states and send to House and/or Supreme Court.

So, is this "Vance on way out?" seeping into MSM bloodstream?

Or is it a DU fever dream?

Reason I ask, is because, if real and gaining traction, I want Rs to be harrassed EVERY. DAMN. TIME. they are on camera about this. Put them on defense constantly having to justify/support Vance and Trump's decsion making.

Three times I've taken a break from DU and most media

Lurked without posting on DU for months before 2016 election. In 2017, I had to join DU and say something with all the dumb stuff Trump was doing right out of the gate. Since then, I had to stop coming to the site, or reading or watching anything poltical on three occasions:

1. Trump's win Nov. 8, 2016
2. RBG's death on Sept. 18, 2020
3. Biden/Trump debate on June 27, 2024

Seriously, I couldn't take any of these events. The despair of Democrats (at least my impression of the overall mood) was severe and heartbreaking. I knew I had to step away and do something for joy and relaxation. Each time I came back though...two weeks is usually my thing. I can't stay away. I care too much. Just started wading back in here after what went down three weeks ago. I STILL cannot watch any network nightly news. My anxiety is already rising with Clooney, Schiff et al. and what THAT is leading to and how we're reacting. Deep breaths with our convention coming up.

Any other times you've done the same?

What is it about Florida boaters and Trump??

Boater here. Just went from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale and back through Okeechobee Waterway. Out this weekend too. Get out about 2-3 times a month in Tampa Bay and along Gulf Intercoastal. Traversing some ruby red counties.

Ugh.

Trump 2024, MAGA , "Take Back America," and "F Biden" flags (BIG obnoxious ones too) just catch my eye and they seem to be everywhere. Maybe less so than 2016 and 2020 (maybe?). Don't get me started on sandbar life and how they've overun that. Waterfromt homes also. Large signs and flags along waterways.

Truly, help me. What is it about the psyche of Florida boaters that are so enthralled with Trump and why do they go out of their way to put it IN...YOUR... FACE?

White privilege and affluence?? Tacky trash?? "I've got mine, F you"??

Just takes a little joy out of getting on the water.
