What is your opinion of the "Ballroom"?

Republicans have always believed in the resilience of democracy.

For many of them, democracy was indestructible. They would win an election and do everything in their power to destroy it. But, they always failed.

However, now there are some MAGA saying, "OMG! What have we done!?" Speaker Mike Johnson is not one of them. But MTG might be?

In my opinion, there are some MAGA that are feeling deep regret and remorse for what they have supported. Their arrogant joy has turned to fear.

We see some of them resigning rather than be a part of the continuing unraveling. We see a couple here and there express their opposition or disapproval of the regime's ideas or policies.

Unfortunately, they are a day late and a dollar short. They cannot reverse what they have engineered.

Do we still have a Constitution?

Seriously.

If the laws of our Constitution are not followed, what good are they?

Oh! Someday this will all be over and we will just continue where we left off?

We learned quite early that Trump had no plans to show his tax records or his medical records. Although that is not in our Constitution, that was a minimal request by the people of this country.

But, we learned also that Trump had no plans to stop his business ventures around the world. He was going to profit from his position. And the emolument clause is in the Constitution. It was ignored by Trump and the Congress did nothing about it. There is always an excuse.

Then he tried to overthrow an election so he could stay in power. Nobody did anything. Then he stole the nation's highest secrets. He was never held accountable by anyone.

He hired and fired at will, contrary to explicit language in our laws. He hired judges that were friendly to his interests and ignored all the others. He called them radical leftists.

And when the election comes around next year, if he is still alive, we will see troops at polling stations. We will see the ballot boxes confiscated by the government. Just as Stalin said, it doesn't matter who votes, it's who counts the votes that matter.

Do you still cling to the idea of a constitutional republic? Do you think we can recover from this disaster?

I apologize if this is too negative for some folks.

The Crime of Congress?

Are they perpetrating a fraud upon the American people?

Jim Jordan subpoenaed former Special Counsel Jack Smith before his Committee today. If he had not gone, there is no doubt but that they would have referred him to the Bondi Justice Department to be prosecuted. So he had little choice.

However, Jim Jordan refused to let him testify publicly. He wanted him behind closed doors. Of course, there are rules Congress must follow when they have closed door hearings.

And that may be the crime?

They cannot be silent in the face of a fraud. They are not beholden to any rules if it covers up a crime. It is very much like the crime fraud exception in the rule of law.

In my opinion, it is a crime for Congress to withhold the information of the commission of a crime from the American people.

Isn't it about time to clean up the mess on Aisle One ??

If MAGA can't handle it, then someone else will have to do it.

For Christ's sake, he tore down the East Wing of the White House!

What are they going to do when he burns down the Capitol?! Just say he is "The President" and he can do whatever he wants?

Isn't it about time for the big carp to shut his mouth?

"We inherited a mess..."

How many Trump sycophants have you heard say those words? Usually it is in front of the press and they are never questioned about it?

Seems that I recall that Joe Biden inherited more of a "mess" than did Donald Trump? We were just coming out of the worst of the COVID and Joe Biden was able to get the vaccine, created by Trump's administration, out to millions and millions of Americans. The stock market had started to recover. It almost crashed. People were working from their homes and Biden and the Democrats mostly, were able to pass a lot of legislation. Joe Biden was not left with the best of two worlds.

But there was a price for trying to get the economy back on track, with cash subsidies to individuals and small businesses. It is called inflation. It is still with us to a nagging degree even today.

But, it just seems wrong to talk about "the mess they inherited" when they expect people to forget what Joe Biden inherited.

Obviously, a lot of people did "forget". They voted for Trump again in 2024.

One of the pitfalls of democracy, I suppose?

After ten years, everyone still trying to understand, rationalize, and explain the actions of a narcissistic psychopath

There is no other explanation. He is a mentally sick and deformed human being.

There is no need to look for further explanations when he tears down the White House, bombs people in small boats, pardons hardcore criminals, extorts his billionaire "friends", threatens his political enemies, commits all sorts of criminal acts, and tears down our country with every passing day.

We have seen enough. There is no rationalizing his actions. He is a malevolent narcissist, which by definition is a cruel person, with no empathy for others.

This morning he is threatening the NYTimes because they reported on his health. In his ten years in the public spotlight, he has lied and refused to give the people any information about his health.

We do not need any further explanations about Donald J Trump.

He just needs to be gone so America can try to heal itself.
