Dems rave over Harris interview: 'Best she's done' since 'ripping' Trump apart at debate

(Raw Story) Kamala Harris’ wide-ranging interview Tuesday with radio host Charlamagne Tha God received instant praise from analysts and others on social media who called it “magnificent” and “very, very impressive.” Harris spent the hourlong interview with the popular Black radio host, dubbed an audio town hall, criticizing former President Donald Trump, answering questions from the host and listeners, and laying out her vision for the Black community.

'His brain is completely out of commission': Trump stuns during economics Q&A

(Raw Story) Donald Trump left jaws on the floor as he answered questions from Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait at the Economic Club of Chicago. In a series of questions about the economy, Micklethwait desperately tried to keep the conversation on track until Trump had to explain to him, "It's called the weave." The term has become Trump's new way of weaving through dozens of different issues in an effort to answer a simple question.

'Off the charts:' How Trump tariffs would shock U.S., world economies

(Washington Post) Former president Donald Trump is campaigning on the most significant increase in tariffs in close to a century, preparing an attack on the international trade order that is likely to raise prices, hurt the stock market and spark economic feuds with much of the world. These proposals would go far beyond the disruptive trade wars of his first term even if they are only partially implemented. The consequences would be far-reaching: Americans would be hit by higher prices for grocery staples from abroad, such as fruit, vegetables and coffee. Domestic firms dependent on imports would need to either figure out new supply chains or raise costs for consumers. U.S. manufacturers would almost certainly see sharp declines in orders from abroad as foreign nations impose retaliatory tariffs.

Hakeem Jeffries pitches calm governance over chaos as Democrats seek the House majority

(NBC News) The way Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries sees it, House Democrats haven’t held the majority this Congress — but they’ve governed as if they did. From avoiding government shutdowns to raising the nation's debt limit to passing an annual defense authorization bill, "we’ve been required to consistently rise to the occasion,” Jeffries, D-N.Y., told NBC News in an interview during a recent campaign stop here. “Democrats have provided the support necessary, almost overwhelmingly in most instances, in order to get things done.” Now, he wants the gavel to go with the governing.

RFK Jr. suggests he'll have a significant role on agriculture and health policy if Trump is elected

(AP) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suggesting he will have significant influence on American agriculture policy if Donald Trump is elected president, the latest in a series of roles he has envisioned for himself in a second Trump administration. Kennedy, an anti-vaccine activist and environmentalist who ran for president as an independent before endorsing Trump, on Monday posted a video on social media that he filmed outside the U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters in Washington. The Trump campaign has said in a statement that formal discussions of who would serve in a second Trump administration are “premature.”

Former KKK Leader David Duke Endorses Jill Stein

(The Spun) As the former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke has been the posterchild for racism, antisemitism and almost every other -ism in the United States for decades. On the latest episode of his podcast, Duke announced that he is endorsing Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

It Turns Out Not Even Republican Voters Like Republican Health Care Ideas

(Huff Post) Until Donald Trump talked about his “concepts of a plan” for replacing the Affordable Care Act... Republicans running for office mostly avoided the subject of health care. A new poll suggests why: The reforms they would likely embrace are incredibly unpopular, in most cases even with self-identified Republicans. The poll, which the research firm Data for Progress released ... and shared with HuffPost prior to publication, asked respondents how they felt about eight legislative ideas that conservatives have touted in the recent past. The response to each idea that Data for Progress tested was negative. And in most cases, it was overwhelmingly negative.
