Go to discussion'There Is Concern at the Trump Campaign': Veteran GOP Strategist Says Internal Polling Is 'Giving Them Pause'
(Mediaite) Republican strategist Margaret Hoover said Republicans have told her that campaign aides for former President Donald Trump have concern over internal polling. "I think if youre the Trump campaign, youre not looking at CNNs numbers. Youre looking at your own internal, and I honestly think, I think their internals are actually giving them pause ... I have heard from Republicans that there is concern at the Trump campaign amongst the operatives that actually really do know the political wherewithal, the turnout and enthusiasm numbers arent where they need to be."

Go to discussionA new kind of gender gap in the 2024 election: Women voting early in huge numbers, far outpacing men
(Politico) Theres a new kind of gender gap in the 2024 election: Women are voting early in huge numbers, far outpacing men. Its giving anxious Democrats who see female voters as key to a Kamala Harris victory newfound hope heading into the final week of the campaign. Its impossible to know who these women are voting for, including whether Democrats are winning over unaffiliated or moderate Republican women disillusioned with former President Donald Trump. But the gender gap has been one of the defining features of the 2024 campaign, and Harris allies see the lack of a surge of male voters as an encouraging sign.

(Huff Post) The Las Vegas Sun ― in the 2024 election swing state of Nevada, where polling puts former President Donald Trump less than one point ahead of Democratic rival Kamala Harris ― has delivered a stinging rebuke of the GOP nominee. The newspaper warned in an editorial published Wednesday that not only does Trumps racism, sexism, xenophobia and more make him totally unfit for any public office but that his mental acuity and sharpness are also in decline.

(NY Times) In recent months, Mr. Trump has boasted on social media and in his speeches that he would protect women in America by making their communities safer and by making sure they wont be thinking about abortion, as he faces increasing backlash for appointing three Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe v. Wade. On Wednesday, he delivered similar remarks but added a new twist as he described onstage what he had told his advisers: I said, well, Im going to do it whether the women like it or not. I am going to protect them.

(Roll Call) Donald Trump has made many campaign promises, and replacing career bureaucrats with political loyalists is far from the loudest. The Republican nominee has drawn more attention for his pledges to round up and deport scores of immigrants, prosecute his rivals and deploy soldiers against the enemy from within. But the worry of civil servants shouldnt be ignored, some Democratic lawmakers say. The idea of turning federal civil servants into political loyalists is frightening, whether a president is Democratic or Republican, said Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., who has helped lead the charge against a possible return of Schedule F.

(CNN) Maryland GOP Senate candidate Larry Hogan touted an endorsement from Donald Trump in a private donor call and suggested it helps him with the former presidents hard core supporters, after repeatedly stating that he did not want Trumps endorsement.
